King Charles has passed several royal milestones since the late Queen’s death in September, but this weekend must be particularly difficult for him.
There is no doubt that the passing of his ‘belove d ‘Mama’ will be on his mind as the country marks Mother’s Day.
But the monarch and Queen Consort Camilla showed their support for others who have lost parents on their joint social media accounts this morning.
‘To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Mothers Day,’ a touching post on the Royal Family’s Twitter read.
Charles shared a poignant childhood photo with his mum. Meanwhile, Camilla too shared a heartwarming picture with her late mum Rosalind Shand, who died in 1994.
The first image in their joint post showed His Majesty as a toddler standing on his mum’s lap as they posed for a photo.
