Olly Murs admits ‘spats’ between him and fiancée over upcoming wedding are ‘the most we’ve ever argued’
Olly Murs has revealed that planning his wedding to fiancée Amelia Tank has caused a few arguments in their normally harmonious relationship.
The singer and Voice UK judge was being careful not to divulge too many details about their big day, joking it was ‘top secret’, but confirmed they would be having a ‘summer wedding’.
However, he has technically already confirmed that it will be ‘in June or July’ following an over-excited TV appearance in December on the Graham Norton Show, when he claimed Amelia would ‘kill me for telling’ – especially as he hadn’t informed his best man at that point!
Olly, 38, announced that he and Amelia, 30, were engaged in June, having been together since 2019.
Now the Troublemaker chart-topper has admitted that all the details surrounding their upcoming marriage has caused them to quarrel ‘the most’ they ever have in their four years together.
Initially joking that he was simply ‘paying for it’ when discussing how involved he was with the planning, Olly clarified: ‘I’m really enjoying it actually; more than I thought I was going to.
‘I didn’t realise how much goes into it. But it’s really fun. We’re having a really great time,’ he told Heart Breakfast hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden.
However, he then said that he and Amelia had had ‘a few arguments, a few spats’.
‘The most we’ve ever had an argument in our relationship in four years,’ he added.
‘But it’s good. We just disagree on a couple of little bits, but it’s going to be a lovely day really special. And yesterday, I was picking my suit…’
The former X Factor star then revealed that it had ‘really hit me yesterday’ that he was getting married and that he got ‘quite emotional’.
As Amanda told him that the ‘scariest thing’ would be him introducing Amelia as his wife following their marriage, he sweetly replied: ‘I’m looking forward to that though.’
Olly previously revealed that Amelia found it ‘weird’ that he wrote songs about her when he was chatting about his single I Found Her, also confirming that most of his Marry Me album was inspired by her too.
