Will away goals count in the Europa League?
The away goals rule will not be used in this year’s Europa League, having been abolished ahead of the 2021/22 season.
UEFA decided to ditch the rule after consulting football stakeholders, with the view being that home advantage is not as important as it once was.
If scores are level on aggregate after the second leg, extra-time and if required, penalties, will be used to determine the winning team.
