Warwick Davis pledges to watch Hollyoaks for the first time as his daughter joins tonight
Hollyoaks has been known to bring in millions of viewers per episode, but they’re set to attract another tonight ahead of Annabelle Davis’ debut on the show.
Annabelle’s dad, actor and presenter Warwick Davis, has taken to Twitter to give his daughter a shout out, promising to tune in to the Channel 4 soap for the first time.
Best known for his roles in the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises, it is clear that acting runs in the Davis family.
The father and daughter duo both appeared in drama series Willow before the announcement that Annabelle would be joining Hollyoaks.
Annabelle has been cast in the role of Lacey Lloyd; a fun and ambitious character who is eager for a job at Dee Valley Law.
Lacey will arrive tonight, as she moves to the village alongside best friend Rayne, played by Neighbours star Jemma Donovan.
‘I’m so excited for you to meet Lacey!’ Annabelle said last year, when her role was announced. She’s fun, career driven, training to be a Lawyer and now looking for a job. Fingers crossed she gets it.
‘I’ve had a great time filming with the Hollyoaks gang and look forward to what Lacey gets up too.’
And Warwick himself has a lot to look forward to himself if he becomes a long-term fan.
Show boss Lucy Allan recently told Metro.co.uk about her plans for the year, including a very topical new storyline.
‘We have a massive social issue story,’ she revealed to us. ‘We really pinned ourselves around the misogyny storyline and so many other storylines in the show played into that.
‘We have another one of those kicking off from mid-2023 that will take us through the rest of ‘23 and into 2024.
‘We’ll look at many of the characters and that will see us look at how someone can be destabilised by being challenged about something they fundamentally believed about themselves all of their life.
‘How someone can ingratiate themselves and turn the cogs of their mind into thinking in another way.’
