Fergie and former spouse, Josh Duhamel’s son, Axl Jack, is growing up rapidly as he enters his second decade of life.
“On this day, I celebrate my compassionate, humorous, outgoing, affectionate, intelligent, loquacious, creative superhero enthusiast,” Fergie (real name Stacy Ferguson), 48, expressed via Instagram on Tuesday, August 29. “Happy 10th birthday, punky!!! I love you, Axl Jack 🎂🎂.”
Alongside Fergie’s affectionate message dedicated to her child, the musician included several rare photos of the newly-minted ten-year-old. In the initial snapshot, Axl posed solemnly for the camera in a black-and-white portrait. Other images showcased the birthday boy goofing around at home and spending time with his pals.
Fergie and Duhamel, 50, welcomed their baby boy in August 2013, roughly four years prior to their separation in September 2017. The pair, whose divorce was finalized in November 2019, share custody equally and frequently come together to celebrate Axl’s important moments.
“My parents never figured it out,” Duhamel disclosed in an interview with Fatherly in January about their co-parenting arrangement. “And the ones who suffered were us [children]. I don’t want to criticize my parents, because they are civil now, but they don’t go the extra mile to communicate with each other. I’m thinking, ‘It’s been 40 years. Get your act together.’ But they lack the necessary skills, and I’m fine with that.”

The actor further explained that Fergie was “extremely firm” about the former spouses “maintaining civility” for the sake of Axl, which contrasts with Duhamel’s upbringing.
Since then, Duhamel has moved on and is now engaged to Audra Mari, whom he proposed to in January 2022. “Axl is thrilled about it,” he exclusively shared with Us Weekly later that month. “That was a major aspect of it. They get along splendidly. It’s been great.”
While Axl has formed a bond with Mari, 29, Duhamel has made sure not to become an “overprotective” parent himself. “I want to ensure that I’m encouraging him to experience new things, letting him know that he’s safe and secure but also capable of taking risks,” the host of “Buddy Games” told Us at the time. “I’m not trying to micromanage him, but I also strive to be a positive role model for him. Because he is observing closely.”

Duhamel, who tied the knot with Mari in September 2022, also hinted at the couple’s plans to expand their family. “Yes, I hope so,” he quipped. “That’s the objective.”
Fergie has even shown support for his new relationship. After Duhamel announced his engagement to Mari through Instagram, the singer of “Big Girls Don’t Cry” congratulated him in the comment section.
