He started with a starter of Carmarthen-Japanese sumo tuna tartare with avocado, edamame beans and wasabi, served with deep-fried cockle popcorn and a mango egg.
This was adopted by a predominant course of bread of Evans cannon of lamb, served on samphire with wild garlic, porcini mushrooms and lamb rendered fried bread, with pomme dauphine and a fondant leek, completed with a pink wine and pink currant jus.
Then lastly for dessert, he made Bara Brith with Caerphilly cheese and fig jam, served with brie ice cream on crumbled Bara Brith and poached figs.

‘This is an excellent feeling,’ he exclaimed after his win.
‘The children will love this, they’ll be like, “Dad! I can’t imagine you probably did it when all you prepare dinner for us is beans on toast!”
‘The expertise has completely modified my life. It has simply been stunning and I can’t thank Gregg and John and all people right here at MasterChef sufficient.’
