Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan portray a duo of university pals who embark on a summer filled with extravagance and perplexity in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn trailer.
Scheduled for release in select theaters on Nov. 24 and later available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Saltburn is both written and directed by Fennell, following her debut as a feature film director with the critically acclaimed Promising Young Woman, which earned her an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
The Cast of Characters in Saltburn
In Saltburn, Keoghan takes on the role of Oliver Quick, an Oxford student struggling to find his place within the university. Elordi, on the other hand, portrays Felix Catton, Oliver’s suave and aristocratic companion, who invites him to spend the summer at his family’s extensive Saltburn estate.
“Numerous individuals lose themselves in Saltburn,” a person tells Oliver in the teaser trailer.
At the beginning of the teaser, Oliver awkwardly admits that his tuxedo is a rental as he prepares to attend a party with Farleigh (Archie Medekwe).

“Do you think you’ll return home?” Felix asks Oliver.
“Honestly? Home holds a different meaning for me than it does for you, Felix.”
“Well, why don’t you accompany me back home? Come to Saltburn,” Felix responds.
Once there, Oliver meets the other members of the Catton household, including Rosamund Pike, who confesses, “Oliver, I have an absolute dread of ugliness, ever since I was very young. I cannot explain why.”
“Perhaps it’s because you’re a terrible person,” Felix remarks.
As the summer progresses, filled with opulent parties and intricate moments within the sprawling Saltburn estate, Felix begins to question whether he truly belongs among the Cattons.
“I can genuinely say that these past few months have been the happiest of my life,” Oliver reveals.
However, there also appears to be a considerable amount of pain hidden behind those gilded walls for Oliver.
Saltburn also features Carrie Mulligan (Promising Young Woman, The Great Gatsby), Richard E. Grant (Girls, Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Lolly Adefope, Paul Rhys, Sadie Soverall, Pierre Bergman, Michelle Thomas, Gabriel Bisset-Smith, Millie Kent, and Aleah Aberdeen.
Produced by Margot Robbie and Josey McNamara through their production company Lucky Chap Entertainment, which also produced Promising Young Woman, Saltburn showcases Fennell’s multifaceted talent.
Furthermore, Fennell portrayed Midge in Barbie alongside Robbie through Lucky Chap and is renowned for her portrayal of a young Camilla Parker-Bowles on The Crown and Elsa in The Danish Girl.
