Lorraine Kelly has expressed that she is “so separate” from Holly Willoughby in the wake of recent ITV drama. Earlier this year, the channel made headlines when former This Morning host Phillip Schofield admitted to having an affair with a much younger male colleague. Shortly after his confession, Phillip, 61, left the show and stepped away from the spotlight.
Since then, Holly Willoughby, 42, has faced accusations of knowing about the affair while Phillip was married, which both Holly and Phillip have denied. Additionally, former presenters and behind-the-scenes staff of ITV have come forward with allegations of toxicity and bullying within the workplace. As a result, there is an ongoing investigation into these claims.
Meanwhile, Scottish daytime presenter Lorraine Kelly, 63, has now hinted at a strained relationship with Holly due to the drama. In an interview with new! Magazine, when asked if she had any advice for Holly, Lorraine responded, “No, no, honestly, we are so separate. And I haven’t been in [at work] , for, gosh, you know, that’s the first time I’ve thought about work. But no, we’re honestly just getting on with it. Honestly, I can’t really say any more than that.” Lorraine has been on a break and will be back on screens in September, with Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh covering in the meantime.
As the investigation into Phillip Schofield’s exit from ITV nears its conclusion, it has been reported that Holly, who had worked with Phillip since 2009, has been cooperating with the investigation. Staff members have been questioned about their knowledge of the situation, and according to sources, Holly has been fully forthcoming and has nothing to hide.
Senior ITV executives, including Kevin Lygo, have also been interviewed as part of the investigation. Kevin explained that everyone involved has been spoken to and that extensive measures have been taken, including reviewing text messages, emails, and WhatsApp conversations. ITV is taking its duty of care seriously and prioritizing finding the truth over making hasty judgments.
Representatives for Holly Willoughby declined to comment on the matter.
