From 1998 until 2001, Danielle Nicholls worked as a host on CITV, initially embarking on her career at the age of 19 and alongside Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby.
During her tenure, she also interviewed the likes of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Victoria Beckham.
However, the now 44-year-old has revealed that during her time on the show, she was a little bit ‘mischievous’ behind the scenes.
Recalling her most daring memories from behind the scenes while reflecting on her time on the show, Danielle hasn’t held back.
‘I remember when I was only 19 years old and on CITV I kissed a pop star in the dressing room,’ she revealed.
She worked on the channel for four years and had some ‘cheeky’ moments in her dressing room (Picture: Carlton Television)‘It was quite cheeky, but I did even more than that with a footballer.
‘The good news is that I ended up marrying him, so that was alright!’ she added when speaking to The Daily Star.
Danielle married former footballer and Charlton Athletic manager Dean Holden in June 2006.
Discussing ITV’s decision to close CITV next month, Danielle expressed her disappointment and said it would affect the opportunities available for aspiring hosts, as well as the ability to discover new talent.
‘It’s really sad they’re taking children’s television away.

Before its launch as an exclusive channel in 2006, CITV formerly broadcast afternoon shows for children and was first launched in 1983.
While originally home to iconic shows such as Jungle Run, The Worst Witch, and Art Attack, ITV has now moved all its children’s streaming platform ITVX Kids, which launched last month.
Explaining the decision, ITV bosses said the average amount of broadcast TV minutes of kids TV channels watched by four to 15-year-olds per week had declined by 62 per cent since 2019, while viewing services on streaming figures had risen by 30 per cent in the same period.
Danielle revealed she had an intimate encounter with her future husband at work once (Picture: Danielle Nicholls/ Instagram)While the platform will feature both brand new shows, as well as old favorites like Bob the Builder and Mr Bean, ITV will continue to feature the LittleBe preschool segment and will offer some children’s content in the early mornings on ITV2 from September.
Although there were some interesting scenes playing out away from the cameras, Danielle previously claimed she was made to wear a minimizer bra after viewers complained about her breasts while on CITV.
Earlier this year she spoke about complaints that were submitted, saying that while she ‘only had a D-cup, I was a size eight, so it was a problem’ and she had to wear the bra because at that time it ‘wasn’t trendy to have a large bust at all’.
After CITV, Danielle went on to star on TV programs including Diggit, Night Fiver, and The Unprofessionals.
