Liverpool’s performance would be drastically different without the presence of Alisson. It’s a question that is frequently asked considering his exceptional skills, which were once again showcased during the match against Newcastle with another extraordinary save.
Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper has consistently come to the rescue, and his efforts are not overlooked by the manager, teammates, or fans.
Alisson’s exceptional abilities make his goalkeeping seem effortless, but there’s no denying the world-class qualities he possesses. His performance against Newcastle was a prime example, and it wasn’t the first time he proved to be the game-changer.
Here, we examine seven of his most memorable saves in a Liverpool jersey. The order of these saves is not specific, as they are all equally magnificent, making it as difficult as choosing a favorite child.

There’s no better place to start than with his most recent extraordinary save. Miguel Almiron struck the ball with immense power from 15 yards out, leaving spectators speechless. Alisson’s ability to stop the ball from going into the net was seriously impressive. Most goalkeepers would struggle to even touch the ball, let alone save it. His wrists are incredibly strong.
Norwich – August 2021

Not one, not two, but three saves in a mere four seconds. His one-on-one skills are out of this world, and we’re not talking about long-range shots that allow for time to make decisions. These shots were taken from one or two yards away, and Alisson’s reaction time is unbeatable. His ability to make himself appear larger and quickly reposition himself is a pleasure to behold. If only we had a cloning machine!
Crystal Palace – January 2022
It wasn’t the only save he had to make that day at Selhurst Park, but it was undoubtedly the most difficult. Jean-Philippe Mateta fired the ball first-time at goal from merely six yards away, only to be denied by Alisson’s outstretched arm. The speed at which Alisson reacted was almost instantaneous, and the fact that his arm was strong enough to prevent the ball from going in is astonishing. It was pure instinct.
Norwich – February 2020

Another match against Norwich, another remarkable save. However, this save stands out for a different reason. A long ball over the top found Lukas Rupp, who could either finish or pass to Teemu Pukki. Unfortunately for them, Alisson was well aware of the situation and did his best to cover both possibilities. For any young goalkeepers reading, this is a perfect example of staying on your feet as long as possible. Outstanding.
Burnley – December 2018
But could he perform on a cold, wet night at Burnley? There was never any doubt. At first glance, one might have thought Ben Mee’s header hit the post. However, it was actually Alisson’s fingertips that redirected the ball away from the top corner. The execution was absolutely brilliant, and it demonstrated that this was just one tool in Alisson’s repertoire. Additionally, during the same sequence, he leaped into the air to keep the ball in play, leading to a third goal. The question remains: what would we do without the magnificent Brazilian?
Wolves – December 2021
If you managed to divert your attention from Joel Matip’s entertaining antics for a moment, you were treated to a remarkable save that perfectly showcased why Alisson is so excellent. Liverpool’s goalkeeper makes difficult saves look easy due to his intelligent positioning and exceptional catching ability, which makes it seem as if he has adhesive on his hands. Leander Dendoncker struck the ball smoothly and precisely, but Alisson calmly claimed it as his own.
Napoli – December 2018

This save was not only match-defining, but it was also history-defining. And those words are not used lightly. Time seemed to freeze at Anfield as Arkadiusz Milik found himself in a position to alter Liverpool’s fate in the Champions League. However, Alisson appeared on the scene to save the day. Fully aware of the danger, he threw his body in the ball’s path and exuded composure when anxiety was palpable among the spectators. That unforgettable night in Madrid would not have been possible without this save, and the ease with which Alisson made it happen speaks volumes about his immense talent. “Alisson, Alisson, Alisson!”
