This Morning star Josie Gibson is rumoured to be in talks for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for a whopping £100,000 fee, according to reports.
The last series saw the likes of Jill Scott, Mike Tindall, Boy George and Matt Hancock take on the critters in the jungle, whilst Carol Vorderman and Paul Burrell also returned to take on the bushtucker trials in an All Stars version earlier this year.
Josie, who has stepped in hosting This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby after Phillip Schofield sensationally quit, rose to fame when she won Big Brother in 2010.
She’s now said to be ‘in talks’ to follow in the likes of other ITV stars who have taken on the jungle, including Linda Robson and Charlene White, for a staggering fee.
A source revealed: ‘I’m A Celeb producers have begun negotiations with Josie’s team to try and lure her with a £100,000 contract.
‘Talks are at an advanced stage.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘Josie has been a fan of the series for many years and is interested and looking at the bigger picture of her TV career.’
When approached for comment, an ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here are just speculation.’
The show’s biggest paycheck is rumoured to have been given to Boy George in the last series of I’m A Celebrity, which saw Lioness Jill crowned Queen of the jungle.
Ahead of his stint on the show, the Culture Club legend was reported to have scooped $1million (£879,000) to take part.
Meanwhile, former health secretary Hancock had been paid £320,000 for 30 days work in the jungle, after reports suggested the final amount could reach £400,000.
A spokesperson later confirmed to Metro.co.uk that Hancock donated just £10,000 to charity, after promising to do so, saying: ‘As well as raising the profile of his dyslexia campaign in front of 11-million viewers, Matt’s donated £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association, off the back of his appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.’
The rumours come after Josie starred alongside Holly for two editions of This Morning this week, stepping in for Schofield.
After speculation circulated of an alleged ‘fallout’ between Holly and Schofield, he later admitted to lying about a secret affair that he had with a younger runner working on the show, which has since ended, insisting it was ‘unwise but not illegal.’
On Monday June 5, Holly addressed her viewers in an emotional speech, her eyes welling up with tears as she spoke about how ‘shaken’ and ‘let down’ she felt in her statement.
She was joined by Josie on Monday and Tuesday, who later shared a photo of them on Instagram.
In her caption, the 38-year-old said: ‘Thank you to this legend and her infectious energy!!! @hollywilloughby you are such a fabulous broadcaster… love d our last two days together.
‘Passing the baton onto @craigadoyle I will be out in the sunshine bringing you an incredible competition from a canal boat. Don’t miss us tomorrow from 10am on @thismorning.’
Holly reshared the image on her Instagram Story, captioning it with a simple yellow heart.
Metro.co.uk has approached Josie’s reps for comment.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
