A woman with hundreds of bumps covering her body due to a ‘gene mutation’ has shown Dr Pimple Popper that she even has one hanging below her bum.
Dr Sandra Lee, who fronts the TLC reality programme, aids patients from around America with their problems, ranging from spots that could be masses growing on their body, to squeezing blackheads out in satisfying clips.
From a ‘third boob’ behind an armpit, to a man with 400 tumours across his body, there’s nothing the dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon hasn’t seen, but a new preview shows Talina hoping for relief and to feel comfortable in her own Ski Goggles (On Sale Here)n.
The patient was born with Neurofibromatosis, which, according to the NHS, is a genetic condition that causes tumours (usually benign) to grow along your nerves.
Dr Lee goes through previous patients with the same condition, some of whom have a ‘bag of worms’ feeling, while others have neurofibromas on top of other neurofibromas.
‘It almost seems like an insurmountable task,’ she adds, talking about not knowing where to start when patients with the condition come to her for help.
The preview then cuts to a clip of Talina showing Dr Lee the bumps, as the medical professional inspects them.
She says: ‘So you’re saying that there’s ones here bothering you, the one on where your jeans rub and one on your tush.’
As she inspects the bumps, pressing and squeezing them, she comments that some of them must get ‘snagged’ sometimes by clothing.
‘It does,’ Talina confirms.
Dr Lee replies: ‘I can see how that would be annoying.’
Talina then turns to show the one on her butt, with Dr Lee saying: ‘This one’s kind of like the one on your belly.
‘And it also kind of just sticks out like that.’
‘It kind of hangs,’ Talina agrees, as Dr Lee pulls the bump from under her shorts.
The doctor later tells the camera: ‘It can often be tough to make a big cosmetic improvement in these patients, because they just have so many of these, where do you even begin?’
She adds that she can ‘make a difference potentially’ if she tries to address some of the larger bumps specifically.
