Levi Colwill risked angering Chelsea fans by revealing he felt ‘brilliant’ in the wake of Chelsea’s thumping defeat against Manchester United.

The former Spurs boss is set to be appointed as Graham Potter’s permanent successo, and is understood to want to offer Colwill a chance to impress at his parent club.

Colwill, meanwhile, has played a key part in Brighton’s outstanding campaign while on loan at the south coast club who confirmed Europa League qualification with a draw against champions Manchester City on Wednesday.
The England Under-21 international, out celebrating that achievement last night was clearly in high spirits, but his reaction to a question posed by a fan on Twitter is unlikely to go down well with Chelsea supporters or his employers.
Colwill’s outstanding recent displays have seen him linked with moves to Tottenham and City given Chelsea’s need to trim their bloated squad.
Speaking about his future earlier this week, Colwill told The Athletic: ‘Brighton have done a lot for me. They put their trust in me when others didn’t and I’m a person that love s to repay that. We’ll see.
‘I don’t know what is going to happen (at Chelsea). I’m still here until the end of the season.
‘I just focus on that, then I’ve got the Euros (Under-21 European Championship with England) in the Summer (Summer is Here SALE)r. After that, we’ll see what happens and go from there.’
