Former WWE wrestler Sara Lee reportedly died by suicide late last year.
The 2015 Tough Enough winner died in October 2022 aged just 30 years old, and an autopsy report from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has revealed her cause of death, according to TMZ.
As reported by the outlet, officials said she left ‘letters of intent at the scene’ before her death, and ingested a lethal combination of alcohol and pills.
According to the documents, Lee also had abrasions and bruises on her head and body at the time of her death.
However, it’s thought she could have suffered the injuries in a fall while intoxicated.
Lee – who had young children Piper and Brady with her husband, former WWE star Wesley Blake (Cory Weston) – joined WWE in 2015 after winning their reality challenge show.
She earned herself a one year contract with the company and made her debut at an untelevised NXT event in January 2016.
Her final WWE match before her release saw her teamed with Liv Morgan against Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, while she continued to train in the ring over the past few years, and married Blake in December 2017.
In her final social media post on October 5, she shared a selfie of herself in the gym and wrote: ‘Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row 👏🥳 first ever sinus infection kicked my butt.’
Her mother confirmed her death on Facebook, saying her daughter was ‘gone to be with Jesus’ as she asked for space for the family to mourn their loss.
She wrote at the time: ‘It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.
‘We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children.’
WWE led tributes to the late star, saying: ‘WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former “Tough Enough” winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans.’
