When Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) discovered that daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney) had been raped in Coronation Street, she was desperate to see her get justice.
The pair went to the police to report the crime officially, but were left devastated when the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.
In upcoming scenes, Tracy will go to extreme lengths to make sure Amy’s ordeal is taken seriously, as a new spoiler video shows.
Tracy can be seen arguing with one of the officers by the front desk of the police station, insisting that she is there to take a stand.
When the officer warns her that she’ll end up in a cell if her behaviour continues, she states that she will be staying right there, before pulling out a bottle of superglue.
She proceeds to glue her hand to the desk, much to the disapproval of the officer.
She makes it clear that she won’t be moved until someone starts to take Amy’s case seriously, and it is obvious that she means it.
Amy spent several weeks suffering in silence after being raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven) earlier this month.
Aaron took advantage of Amy after she passed out drunk in bed, and it wasn’t until the next morning that she realised what he had done.
After a confrontation with Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), who accused her of sleeping with her boyfriend, Amy realised that she couldn’t keep her secret any longer, and decided to confide in tracy.
Tracy was horrified to learn what had happened, and immediately informed Amy’s dad, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
Both parents were desperate to see Aaron get what was coming to him, but traumatised Amy didn’t want anyone to know what had happened.
