Vicar Charles (Kevin Mathurin) is usually all about seeing the good in people, but when it comes to his own daughter, he’s got the skills of a bloodhound to sniff out a bad boy in Emmerdale. He knows her new bloke Alex is a wrong’un, and Alex is about to prove him right in the most horrendous way.
Charles ignored his instincts to allow Naomi (Karene Peter) to indulge in this new relationship, relenting over Naomi’s frustration. But that decision could prove deadly for Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
Currently though, Alex is showing nothing but his good side and Charles is being forced to grovel. It’s all a dangerous ruse, as Alex is gearing up for a heist and Manpreet will get caught in the crossfire.
While Charles continues to play nice, Alex is plotting. He overhears Manpreet on the phone discussing the surgery’s drugs delivery and his eyes light up with pound signs. With the motherload located, he makes a covert phone call.
The next day, Alex is on the phone and he is agitated with whoever is at the other end. But while he’s busy plotting something heinous, naïve Naomi and Charles’ believe him when he says he has a job interview.
His ruse falls apart when he’s spotted in the middle of a dastardly deed on the edge of the village handing cash to a mystery woman by Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) outside of the village.
Belle is left with a dilemma over telling Naomi what she saw but ultimately comes clean. In typical Naomi style, she’s disbelieving, until Chas backs up Belle and Naomi is forced to concede they might be right.
