Mimi Webb has addressed the rumours surrounding her representing the UK for Eurovision 2023, but she’s sadly confirmed it’s not true.
There’s been plenty of speculation over who could be performing on behalf of the UK, after Sam Ryder soared us into second place when the song contest was held in Turin last year, with Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra crowned winners.
Excitement has been brewing for weeks, with fans sent into a frenzy days ago when tickets for the previews and live performances, being held in Liverpool, officially went on sale.
We’re still waiting to see who will be representing the UK, with an announcement expected on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 show on Thursday, but Mimi confirmed it won’t be her.
Chatting to Scott Mills on Wednesday, she said: ‘Oh Eurovision! No, just for everyone, I’m not doing it.
‘I’m a massive fan of it though, I watch it every year, and Sam Ryder was incredible on it last year.
‘But no I won’t be doing it this year.’
Scott replied: ‘Have you seen the rumours, there’s a lot of them?’
‘I have, I don’t know where it came from,’ Mimi added, but confirmed it’s ‘not me’.
‘I’ll be supporting all the way.’
Scott earlier shared: ‘Fans of Eurovision, listen up, I’ve got some exciting news… Zoe is going to have a BIG Eurovision announcement tomorrow morning at 8.30am!
