Downton Abbey’s Amy Nuttall seen after Andrew Buchan moves in with co-star Leila Farzad
A day after reports emerged that her husband Andrew Buchan had moved in with his co-star Leila Farzad, Amy Nuttall has been seen in public.
On Tuesday it was revealed that Buchan, 44, had ‘fallen’ for his Better co-star Farzad, 39, while they were filming the BBC thriller, which was released last month.
He has since allegedly moved out of the home he shared with Nuttall, 40, his wife of over a decade.
Now Nuttall has been photographed after the news broke that her husband had walked out on her and their two young children.
Photographed as she ran errands in Buckinghamshire, Nutall was keeping the cold at bay in a padded navy puffer jacket and swept her hair back.
Looking upset in some of the shots, she apparently fought back tears when speaking to nearby media.
‘I can’t talk about it. I’m sorry, I can’t say anything,’ she told the Daily Mail.
Friends of Nuttall have said she is ‘trying to make sense’ of her husband’s actions and choice to walk out on their ‘idyllic family life’.
‘It was a huge shock. Amy is heartbroken. Whatever has gone on, it seems to have been enough for him to re-evaluate his whole life and rip up their marriage,’ a source told The Sun.
They added: ‘For Andrew to walk away from his family was a huge shock to us all. Everyone who knows them thought they were going to be together forever. But he’s packed his bags and left with his new co-star.’
On Valentine’s Day, Nuttall alluded to their split with a cryptic Instagram post.
‘I am not impressed by money, social status or job title, I’m impressed by the way someone treats other human beings,’ she wrote.
The actress is best known for playing Chloe Atkinson on Emmerdale from 2000 until 2005 and then going on to play housemaid Ethel Parks in period drama Downton Abbey.
In Better, Buchan plays well-connected criminal Col alongside Farzad’s corrupt police officer, Lou.
He previously played Mark Latimer in Broadchurch, while Farzad earned a Bafta nomination for her part in I Hate Suzie.
