Loose Women viewers ‘in tears’ as panel all dress in blue to honour Jamal Edwards
The Loose Women panel all dressed in blue today to mark the one-year anniversary of Jamal Edwards death, leaving viewers at home hit with emotions.
On Thursday’s episode, Jamal’s mum Brenda Edwards appeared alongside Charlene White, Judi Love and Kelle Bryan.
When tuning in, people watching quickly noticed that all four ladies were all wearing blue, a decision that Charlene explained in the opening minutes.
‘You might have noticed that we are all wearing blue today and it is for a very special reason,’ she explained.
‘We are paying tribute to Brenda’s son Jamal a year after his death.’
She also explained that they would be sharing a short film later in the programme about how Brenda and her daughter Tanisha had been continuing his legacy.
‘It’s going to be an emotional one, but really uplifting and filled with a tonne of love,’ she added.
‘There’s a lot of love on this panel today. We will also have some laughs as well, just as we would have wanted.’
Earlier this week marked the one-year anniversary of Jamal’s death, after he died aged 31 following a heart attack after using cocaine in February 2022.
The founder of online music channel SBTV, Edwards had helped to launch the career of Ed Sheeran, while also working with other artists including Storzmy, Emeli Sande and Rita Ora.
Explaining the decision to don blue, Brenda said on the show that her son had been a huge Chelsea supporter.
Seeing the ladies all support their friend and colleague sparked a huge reaction on social media.
‘I’m watching this and crying tears such an emotional and amazing tribute to celebrate Jamal – Brenda is a tower of strength and the support from you all is truly a sisterhood,’ one person wrote.
‘Beautiful in blue,’ another added.
Later in the day, Charlene posted about how difficult it was filming the episode.
‘I can’t lie to you… today was hard,’ she wrote.
‘There were a lot of hugs, hand-holding, laughs, and moments of reflection ahead of paying tribute to Jamal…but [we] channelled Brenda’s strength and determination to celebrate a life well lived.
‘The hug we all gave B live on the show came from pure love and pride for our friend.’
