There’s at least one very happy Love Island couple with Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga finally kissing in tonight’s episode.
However, it came right after Tanya awkwardly swerved the airport security worker’s initial advances making for some very uncomfortable viewing.
It’s only been two days in the South African villa this series but it already feels like we’ve been on quite a journey with Tanya and Shaq. The two chose to couple up together on the first day and Shaq seemed smitten pretty quickly, trying to kiss the biomedic student on the first night.
But Tanya explained she wasn’t ready before revealing her head was being slightly turned by new bombshell Tom Clare.
Shaq wasn’t giving up though and, in Wednesday’s episode, was seen making a move on Tanya again, spitting his smooth chat and moving in for the kill as they lounged on bean bags.
‘I just want to keep you close,’ he told Tanya, who replied: ‘I’m your little baby. I want to keep you close.’

However, the sweet-talking didn’t work in his favour as Tanya moved her head out the way in the last minute, leaving Shaq reeling with embarrassment.
‘You just pied me,’ he told her. ‘That’s taken a hit to my ego.’
Tanya reassured him: ‘What you need to remember is I really really really want to kiss you.’
Speaking in the Beach Hut, he added: ‘I got pied. I went in for the kill and she pied me off but do you know what yeah, she’s definitely something special.’
In her own confessional, Tanya said: ‘He tried to give me a little kiss and the vibe was making sense, but I can’t give it him too soon.’
Well, things took a swift plot twist as the two continued talking about the awkward moment in bed, as Shaq revealed: ‘I’m secretly hurt inside still.’
Tanya then suddenly moved in and planted a kiss on Shaq’s lips, much to his ‘excitement’.
The following morning, he was seen giving the boys a morning rundown of the night before and said he planned on seeing how his romance with Tanya would blossom.
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
