Fans share excitement for Coronation Street star as she makes Happy Valley debut

Fans have heaped praise on former Coronation Street star Mollie Winnard, who has been captivating audiences with her role in Happy Valley.
The actress, who has a signature role in the third series of the BBC One crime drama, is most known to viewers for her work on the infamous cobbles, where she portrayed Kayla Clifton.
Kayla, as Corrie viewers will recall, befriended Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) back in 2018, and subsequently took Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) hostage in her garage, where it was revealed that she was the daughter of abuser Neil.
Mollie has since appeared in numerous other TV dramas, including All Creatures Great and Small and Four Lives, before landing the role of Joanna Hepton in Happy Valley, which returned to screens earlier this month after a seven-year wait for its highly-anticipated third and final series.
Joanna is in abusive relationship with PE teacher Rob (Mark Stanley), and was arrested by protagonist Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire), after Rob reported her to the police.
Fans were quick to praise Mollie’s portrayal of Joanna, who played a significant part in the third episode of the series, which aired on Sunday (January 15).
‘@molliewinnard big fan of Happy Valley, thought I recognised your name from somewhere, and it was @itvcorrie’ wrote on social media.
Former Corrie star Sacha Parkinson, meanwhile, who played Sian Powers, cheered told Mollie that she is: “Smashing it!”
