Coronation Street star Amy Robbins teases huge feud between Christina and Jenny

It’s always interesting when someone goes up against Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) in Coronation Street because let’s be honest, you don’t mess with her.
Enter: Christina (Amy Robbins).
Biological mother to Daisy (Charlotte Jordan), Christina makes her arrival soon after learning from one of her daughter’s old school friends that she’s tying the knot with Daniel (Rob Mallard).
There’s a reason why we haven’t heard from Christina up until now – Daisy doesn’t talk to her.
‘You never know when she’s going to be there, when she’s not going to be there, if she’s going to phone or not’, Amy Robbins explained to us recently so yes, when her character arrives in Weatherfield, Daisy really isn’t expecting her to hang around for very long.
While Daisy refuses to give her mum the time of day, she’ll also turn her attention to Jenny, Daisy’s stepmum, which is going to make for some pretty interesting scenes.
‘It’s instant rivalry’, Amy told us.

‘It’s a really difficult set-up between the two of them, it’s electrically scary because Jenny’s a hell of a force to be reckoned with and so is Christina and I don’t think either of them are willing to back down and it’s all to do with the fact that they both really want Daisy’s attention, they want Daisy to love them. Both characters are basically fighting over her. It’s not very becoming for a pair of women in their 50s but the bottom line is that’s what it is. Terrible rivalry, really bad.
‘Also, Christina believes that Jenny ran off with her husband. As far as she’s concerned, Jenny is the reason Christina’s marriage broke down. If you ask Jenny, she will say the marriage was broken anyway, but Christina’s got it in her head that Jenny was the reason her husband didn’t want to be married anymore and that was the reason she had to leave, which was all so painful.’
‘Her first thought is how beautiful she is and how proud of her she is, but she can’t say it’, Amy added, reflecting on Christina’s reaction when she sees Daisy for the first time in years.
‘I think it’s so long since she’s seen her. She’s working behind that bar, and she’s got her life so together and she’s so overcome with pride because she’s everything that Christina probably used to be – but not anymore. She thinks, “wow, there’s my girl doing everything I wanted to do”.’
‘So, Christina is immensely proud of her and it’s easy to act that because Charlie, who plays Daisy, physically looks incredibly like my daughter, incredibly like her!’
