Cardi B reveals the one thing Offset did that made her decide not to divorce him

Cast your minds back to 2020. Tiger King was Netflix’s most talked about show, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were pictured together for the first time in years, and Cardi B filed for divorce from her husband Offset.
Cardi cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in her divorce filing, but just two months later, the case was ‘dismissed without prejudice’.
What exactly did Offset do to convince the Bodak Yellow hitmaker to take him back? Well, it was down to one simple gesture.
‘The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me,’ Cardi – who shares daughter Kulture, four, and son Wave, one, with Offset – revealed.
She also said that in the lead-up to her filing for divorce, she and her partner were butting heads.
‘Me and Offset, we was not seeing eye-to-eye. This was like, the same year I filed for divorce and everything,’ she added when addressing the split on the premiere episode of The Jason Lee Show on Monday.

When news of her and Offset’s split broke back in 2020, Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus, told her OnlyFans followers: ‘I decided to leave.’
According to Entertainment Tonight, she elaborated: ‘At the end of the day, I decided I wanted to leave.
‘I didn’t wait until he cheated on me again. I didn’t wait [for] another controversy with him being involved. I decided to leave. If I wanted to stay, I could have stayed. I decided to leave.’
A month later Cardi and Offset – born Kiari Kendrell Cephus – were spotted locking lips in Las Vegas, suggesting their romance had been rekindled.
In the same interview, Cardi reflected on the moment she learned of Takeoff’s death and revealed her husband Offset’s emotional reaction to the news.
Takeoff was shot and killed in November, at the age of 28, following an incident at a party in Houston.
‘We were in bed,’ she told Jason. ‘We were supposed to go to LaLa [Anthony] ’s party in New York, and my daughter threw up all over my costume.
‘Halloween was over because it was just so much throw-up on the costume and I didn’t have nothing to wear.
‘So we just fell asleep and out of nowhere, Offset’s phone kept ringing, my phone kept ringing. Offset picked up the phone and he was just like, “No!”
‘He’s screaming and screaming. He’s screaming like, “No! No! No! No!”
‘I’m like, “What’s going on?” And he’s like, “TakeOff is dead”. I smacked him and said, “Don’t say that!” And he’s just screaming and throwing things, throwing up, running all over. And I was so scared, I was crying so much. It was terrible.’
The mum-of-two added: ‘It was just such a sensitive time in my home.
‘I just feel like everything was so triggering, any little bad thing, any little diss, any little whatever the crap to me was just so triggering. It was a lot.’
